Transitions, Planning and Monitoring Software
About our TPM Software:
The Leadership Services Team is focused on providing effective software solutions for schools and School Districts through our dynamic TPM solution. Our TPM Software has been custom developed by our Leadership Services Team and is currently deployed in a variety of clients from Ontario to Alberta. TPM facilitates the collection and reporting of various data variables through either standardized forms (i.e. Individualized Education Plans for students in Alberta and Ontario) or customized templates (i.e. client surveys, special education meeting templates such as case conference, attendance management forms, elementary to secondary transition templates, school based tracking systems, etc.).
TPM is an effective electronic data collection template solution that provides organizations with the tools they need to implement, manage, distribute, process, and store information on electronic templates and forms. Easily integrated with existing enterprise level technology, TPM eliminates the need for physical storage of forms, reduces incoming paper, and streamlines tasks. By implementing a solution such as TPM software, an organization can eliminate processing errors, diminish manual keying, ensure consistent collection of information, and reduce turnaround time increasing overall efficiency.
The ability to develop and implement customized templates within our TPM software is what sets us apart from other software solutions. With our dynamic software template development functionality, quick turn - around time and the professional commitment to understanding the needs of our clients, we are able to consistently deliver top performing solutions.
Within our TPM software, we are leveraging Asynchronous JavaScript and XML (Ajax), a current development technique, to improve overall user experience. Ajax is a method of building interactive applications for the Web that process user requests immediately. Combining several programming tools, Ajax allows content on Web pages to update immediately when a user performs an action, unlike other development approaches which users must wait for a whole new page to load. Our TPM screens refresh more quickly because only partial data is being sent back and forth on an ongoing basis and only certain components of the page are being refreshed during that process.
By incorporating Ajax, a user interface becomes more efficient, dynamic, and improves response time. It allows users to have a better concept of the screen they are viewing and know where they are in the system because the background remains visible. Ajax can also help reduce cost in software delivery as smaller packets of data are sent back and forth, ultimately using less bandwidth and processing resources.
The most effective IT solutions are those that are intuitive to use and manage. Our TPM solution meets this criteria and much more!

TPM Implementation Stories:
The Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board initiated a pilot implementation of TPM software at Centre Hastings Secondary School in October 2009. Just recently, the HPEDSB team has made the decision to expand the TPM implementation to 2 more secondary schools for semester 2.
The two newest members of the TPM software user community will be Centennial Secondary School in Belleville and Prince Edward Collegiate Secondary school in Picton.
Software as a Service: A Practical Application in Education
Introduction
Traditional models of software deployment in education require the School District to buy or build the application or solution required. Typically, the District is required to purchase a perpetual license, pay an annual maintenance fee and assume responsibility for the software's implementation and ongoing management. These applications are typically installed directly onto District owned servers, with upgrades and…
